How do I get to Kenya?
Both Kenya Airways and South African Airways fly to the main airport in Nairobi and if you want to go to Mombasa, you’ll need to take an internal flight from there or drive. The flight time is under three hours, direct from Johannesburg.

Driving in Kenya
Roads are often in poor condition outside of the cities and sometimes in them as well. The conditions worsen in the wet season and care is necessary. You’ll often find animals and people walking in the middle of the roads which are used for herding cattle between locations. Be especially careful driving at night.

Hotels fall into three main categories; Game lodges, all inclusive beach resorts and city centre hotels. The first two are the most luxurious and can range from R1000 to R3000 a night whilst the city hotels can be chain run and from R800 a night for basic accommodation.

What Should I see in Kenya?

• Nairobi. The Kenyan capital city and the centre of Kenya’s economic wealth, it’s the starting point for many safari tours and is encircled by a national park of its own.
• Mombasa. Kenya’s holiday playground whose pure white sandy beaches are lapped by crystal clear blue seas. A great place to chill out.
