Getting to Manchester
Despite a plethora of international routes, there are no routes from Southern Africa so you’ll have to make a connection at Heathrow or Paris or Amsterdam. Once there, hire car at the airport is the best way into the city although there is a rail link to the centre if you prefer to hire a car there instead.

Getting out of Manchester
Manchester’s city centre is surrounded by its large metropolitan area. Once beyond that you can journey down the M62 for a fabulous day out in Liverpool, the home of the Beatles. Blackpool pleasure beach is an hour away whilst the beauty of the Lake District is an hour to the north.

Must See Places in Manchester

• The Manchester University Visitor Centre. Here you’ll find amazing exhibits celebrating the splitting of the atom, the development of radio astronomy and the discovery of Vanadium
• Old Trafford. The home of Manchester United, the most famous football club in the world, and considered by some to be the home of premiership football.  
• The Ship Canal. A relic of the industrial revolution, now beautifully restored for leisure boating and wildlife.
• Curry Mile. With a large Asian population, Manchester was always going to be good for curry. This road in Rusholme is nearly a kilometre long and packed with every type of curry house imaginable.
